When winter roads become impassable, ambulances, fire engines, police and other emergency vehicles can’t perform their life-saving services. That’s bad enough, but the risk to life and limb goes far beyond the inability to respond to emergencies.

According to the Federal Highway Administration, 70 percent of the nation’s roads are located in snowy regions—in other words, anywhere that receives more than five inches of snowfall each year, on average. In addition, nearly 70 percent of the U.S. population lives in these snowy, rainy regions. In other words? A lot of us have to deal with winter storms and slippery roads. And about 70 percent of the accidental deaths that occur in the wintertime happen in automobiles.

However, such fatal threat can be avoided by taking the following steps:

  • - Ensure front and rear lights are in good working order
  •  -Keep a distance
  •  -Drive with your lights on, even during the day
  •  -Minimize driving in the dark
  •  -Use a lower gear to provide more traction
  •  -Slow down
  •  -Minimize excessive smartphone usage

Fortunately, such threat is avoidable but what makes driving most life-threatening is from smartphone distraction. It’s no surprise that distracted driving is a major cause of fatal car wreck deaths. In fact, it’s estimated that roughly 25% of motor vehicle accident fatalities are a result of distracted driving.
Smart phones offers us to stay connected with our communities whenever we want — especially while driving. Therefore, there are numerous reasons that propel you to invest in a cell phone mount for your car to minimize the risk of life-threatening accidents. We recommend using a car mount to avoid any possible distraction.
